The Merida eBig Nine 600 Electric Mountain Bike has a lot to offer with the latest version now coming equipped with the Shimano STePS EP8 drive unit offering best-in-class torque figures of 85Nm so you can easly power up big mountains or casually criose to work. While it features multiple assistance modes including a walk assist mode so when you inevitaly have to walk it, it’ll provide a helping hand then! Merida has equipped a wide range 11 Speed Shimano Deore drivetrain for smooth gear changes and bulletproof reliability on even the harshest terrain so you can truly focus on riding. Without the Electric Bike side of things, the eBig Nine is a ferociously cable cross country hardtail designed for mid range trails, add in a great motor and at least 100km of range with the 630Wh battery and you’ve got a bike that can take you further, keep you riding for longer and lets you achieve more for the same effort – it ensures fun and evens the playing field so that every group ride can be just as enjoyable as the last!

Merida has designed the eBig Nine 600 to be as easy to ride as possible, so it benefits from big 29” wheels alongside a SunTour XCR34 Air Fork which smoothes out the bumps and tricky sections of the trail, make riding on fire roads a breeze and if getting from A to B is more your thing – it does an amazing job of that as well. With this bike it really can be a do it all bike, you can jump on in your regular clothes and not break a sweat on the way to work then on the way home chuck on a loose T-shirt and carve it up on the fire roads, explore that shortcut you’ve always thought about and turn your commute into an experience.

Jumping into the more technical side of the bike, Merida has chosen to spec the eBig Nine with trusted Shimano components. The Shimano STePS EP8 drive unit offers 85Nm of torque and 4 assist modes, with the Shimano STePS E8036 630Wh battery offering over 100km of range to a single charge. There are a couple of great features of the Shimano StePS E8036 battery: firstly it can charge to 50% capacity in just 2.5 hours and takes 6 hours to completely charge, while its design allows it to be integrated into the eBig Nine’s frame. Not only does this provide the battery with extra protection, it improves the structural soundness of the eBig Nine and ensures a sleek design. Of course, everything is simple to use, so you can select different assistance modes with the display and the motor will assist you automatically as soon as you begin pedalling – with pedal assist it has never been easier to start riding! In line with the comfortable design and low step-over frame, Merida has equipped this bike with 100mm of suspension in the front helping you maintain plenty of grip in looser conditions and keeping things comfortable and steady on those longer more leisurely rides. They’ve fitted the bike with strong, dependable Shimano Deore 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes up front alongside big 180mm RT30 rotors giving you easy to use braking power giving you extra control and confidence around corners and on descents.
